You can adjust the wheels that you see in the visualization via the settings menu in your Tesla. So far, the 18 ”wheels without Aero caps were missing in the pull-down menu. In software update 2020.24 they got added to the selection list.
The advantage of setting the correct wheel configuration is that the software will also take into account the appropriate efficiency gain or loss in its consumption calculations; a smaller rim size usually gives better better efficiency and not fitting Aero caps increases power consumption compared to 18 ”with Aero caps. It also adjusts eventual differences in recommended tire pressure. So this is more than a nice visual option.
To change the wheel configuration, go via the screen in your Tesla to: Control > Service > Wheel Configuration. To activate the adjusted setting, the system will need to restart.
